Celebrate Poetry Month with Amanda Gorman’s Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem

6 Apr

Amanda Gorman, the youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history, released a children’s book titled Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem. The book was illustrated by Loren Long who is a New York Times #1 bestselling illustrator. The poems in the book along with the illustrations are magical. The illustrations in the book depict colorful and vibrant wall murals in New York City. “I wrote Change Sings as a children’s anthem to remind young readers that they have the power to shape the world, “said Gorman on her Facebook page and Instagram.

This lyrical picture book takes the reader through a musical journey of poems that empower positive change:

“I can hear change humming
In its loudest, proudest song.
I don’t fear change coming,
And so I sing along.”

Readers can find Amanda Gorman’s books: Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem, Call Us What We Carry and The Hill We Climb at the Main Branch and Grand Street Branch. These books are also available from eLibraryNJ and eBCCLS.
